Peace Journalist for a sustainable future

Biography

Kimberlye Kowalczyk was born in Kyoto, Japan to a Polish-American father and a Korean mother. Having spent 19 years attending international schools in Kyoto and Osaka, Japan, she then moved to the United States for university and graduated from Antioch College with a degree in Cultural and Interdisciplinary Studies (with a focus in Peace Studies and Journalism). She is currently a M.A. in Conflict Transformation candidate at SIT Graduate Institute.

With a diverse background of experiences, including as an organizer in the antiwar movement in the United States during the initial stages of the occupation of Iraq, as an assistant organizer for international and intergenerational fora at universities in Japan, interning at the acclaimed Kyoto Journal in Kyoto, Japan and the Women's Feature Service (WFS) news syndicate in New Delhi, India, working as webreporter onboard a round-the-world voyage on the Peace Boat (http://www.peaceboat.org/english/voyg/54/index.html), to currently working as a resident peace journalist for Transcend Media Service, Kimberlye Kowalczyk continues to study the art of distilling life's meaning into the reflective magic of words.

Displayed in this blog is an articulation of her humble perspective as she journeys through our collective history and ponders on hopes for the future.
